The Chiropractor who leases an office in the same suite suggested that I start accepting automobile insurance claims -- much easier than accepting insurance for non-mva cases.  I found a book, "A Comprehensive Guide to Insurance Billing" by Vivian Madison-Mahony on Island Software's website (www.islandsoftwareco.com).  It is a very in-depth book that includes all the forms you need (from case history to collection forms).  I also bought Island Software's Massage Office Professional to use to keep track of my clients.  It has areas for all of the insurance information, including adjusters, and attorneys.  I definitely would recommend buying both the manual and the software.  I have sent out letters (with a prescription form and a gift certificate for a free one hour massage) to area Chiropractors and physicians.  I have also sent out letters (with a gift certificate) to area attorneys who specialize in automobile insurance cases.  Hopefully I will get some referrals for new clients.  I read a suggestion from one massage therapist who took a box of Krispy Kremes to the local body shop as incentives for the repairmen/woman.  Auto body shops usually are the first ones contacted after a wreck -- even before an attorney or physician.
